Would You Like some food with those flies?

OUR world has officially been taken over by flies! There is no place you can go where flies haven't followed us. For the last eight days we have seen lots of things. The first was actually crossing the nullarbor. We've stayed at alot of old stations that are kind of creepy. Today we went to a big rock and looked at some aboriginal paintings. The most interesting was a sailing boat. There are theories to it that it might have been painted by an aboriginal that had been to the coast or it was a survivor of the dutch ships that got shipwrecked. What is strange is that it is more than 300km from shore. Then we climed the rock. I am beginnling to realise how lucky we are at home. When we swagged it last night in the morning the was not a animal about. (Bar flies).

So far we have only left footprints.

Welcome to the land of mozzies

Last night was the third night we slept in our swags. After I had gone to sleep mum and dad had to wake me up because there was to many mozzies so I had to sleep in our mozzie net. NO STARS :(. We are already in WA but we have decided not to swim wIth the whale sharks. We are going to monkymia instead. We found the most amazing dunes that were about 20 metres high.

The mallee tree

We found my twin...A MALLEE TREE. The mallee tree has no trunk on top of the ground but its trunks is hidden under ground. This is called a Tuber. This is because it has more room to store its water and if there is a fire the branches will burn but new ones will grow from the Tuber. We found over 5 speceis by their leaves and colour. But yesterday we found the most pretty one so far. It had a nice golden trunk and leaves that in the sunlight look silver.

A environmetly friendly house

A few nights ago stayed at a friends holiday house. We noticed that the house included a composting toilet. It was powed by solar panels. It had a compost pile. The house was designed to fit in with the landscape. lt was made from recycled timber and the owner designed it and then him and his dad built it.

DON'T PALM US OFF

Sumatran tigers are endangered by palm oil as each minute people tear about a football field of their habitat away for palm oil. This is not just a problem for the Sumatran tiger it a problem for some other species of tigers and other animals to like the Orangutan. If you were to walk into the super market 40% of the things that lay on the shelves would contain palm oil. Like most stories when there is a complication theres a resolution and this is one of those. You can help out by simply minimising the amount of products you purchase that contain palm oil and take the alternative rought. For a list of things without palm oil you can take a look at Toronga zoo website.

First two nights

On monday we hit the road at about 11am which ment we arrived at Lake Keeepit at 6:30. It took about 5hours without the stop for lunch. When we got to Lake Keepit it was one of those places where you ask yourself is it beautiful or is it beautiful. Yesterday we travelled to Dubo we got there earlier than when we did at Lake Keepit and had time to set up before it got dark. Today we went to the zoo despite the fact that each animal was lovely in their own way I liked the Rino, girrafe, elephant and hippo. I rode a girrafe and rino, well almost.

Hi guys
Only one more week until we hit the road!
I hope you can follow us on this blog. I also hope I make you really JEALOUS. I will use this blog to keep you up to date through those long hour of sitting down in the back seat on my back end. I hope it occupies you more than I will be occupied. I know how jelous half of you guys are but to be honest with you I'm not to sure about going myself, in fact I don't really want to go. I'm not too scared about swiming with whale sharks but horse riding with salt water crocs around thats scary. I'M not to sure where we are going but here's a route map that dad made.
